Lauren Brodauf joins Shelf
ISSUE II | Shelf Introspect
Happy Tuesday ShelfMag readers <3! Today’s feature is the one and only Lauren Brodauf. YouTuber, Letterboxd correspondent and self-described movie addict, Lauren is here to share some of the different media that’s shaped her into one of our favorite creators on the internet. Follow along to read her full interview and be sure to follow her on shelf!

ShelfMAG: You’re on a first date and they pass you the aux, what song are you playing?
@laurenbrodauf: Like a G6 (epic)
ShelfMAG: Who was the first TV or movie character you identified with as a kid?
@laurenbrodauf: Carmen from the original spy kids. i fear she was the blueprint for the smart independent funny type A girls of my generation…

ShelfMAG: What book would be a red flag if you saw it on someone’s bookshelf?
@laurenbrodauf: Anything colleen hoover keep that woman’s writing far away from me.

ShelfMAG: You’re biking through the city on a sunny day...what song is playing?
@laurenbrodauf: Desire I Want to Turn Into You by Caroline Polachek…or! The Ballad of Matt and Mica by Magdalena Bay…omg ok or Just Dance by Lady Gaga…i’m very indecisive. i could name 100 more but i’ll limit myself to those three as they’re always in my rotation.
ShelfMAG: What fictional character did you have a crush on growing up?
@laurenbrodauf: Both Johnny and Susan Storm from Fantastic Four (2005) played by Chris Evans and Jessica Alba. also, where is Jessica these days? need her back on the big screen imminently! as well as Ash Ketchum from Pokémon.

ShelfMAG: What item on your shelf is most likely to remain there forever?
@laurenbrodauf: As a self proclaimed trinket, little things, and photo hoarder, this is an extremely tough question for me. but as of now I couldn’t imagine taking down a framed photo I have of my aunt and I taken circa 2007. she passed away last year and was such a force and inspiration in my life, and shaped a lot of who i am today. whenever i look at that photo i remember to live life to the fullest, something she would always remind me to do.
