Kit Keenan joins Shelf

ISSUE II | Shelf Introspect

Kit Keenan is a self-ascribed “young Martha Stewart stuck in Blair Waldorf’s plot line.” She’s also a fan of Playboi Carti

You may recognize Kit from Instagram, where she’s been blending fashion and food in a way that feels entirely her own, or from her early days on The Bachelor, where she first caught the public’s eye. But Kit’s creative journey started much earlier—growing up immersed in the fashion industry, she developed a strong sense of personal style, one that now extends to the way she approaches cooking. Her culinary philosophy is as much about iteration and storytelling as her sartorial choices, drawing from her Brooklyn-Italian roots on her dad’s side and the generations-old recipes passed down from her maternal grandmother and great-grandmother. Over time, she’s built a digital community that refuses to put fashion and food in separate silos, proving that dressing up and cheffing up go hand in hand.

Kit isn’t just making meals—she’s making a movement. By bringing a fresh, stylish perspective to the kitchen, she’s redefining the way we engage with both what we wear and what we eat. Read along to discover the different media that have shaped Kit into one of our favorite creators online, and make sure to follow her on Shelf!

ShelfMAG: If you could trade places with any fictional character who would it be and why?

@kitkeenan: Blair Waldorf, obviously. Only on the good days—Paris trips, brunch at The Palace, sipping martinis in headbands. In my version, she’d also be a bit of a homebody, someone who loves a night in, cooking an elaborate dinner for her family in a perfectly tailored silk robe. Less scheming on the Met steps, more setting the table and pouring you a glass of champagne.

ShelfMAG: What album do you associate with your adolescence?

@kitkeenan: Nelly Furtado’s Loose. My mom used “Maneater” as the opening song for one of her shows, so it’s always had this special place in my life. We’d dance to this album at home, and every song felt like an anthem.

ShelfMAG: What song would wake you up from a coma and why?

@kitkeenan: Any Playboi Carti song from Die Lit. My music taste is a bit of a contrast to my fashion sense, but the energy always pulls me out of any bad mood.

ShelfMAG: What movie always makes you cry without fail?

@kitkeenan: My Neighbor Totoro. It's just so heartwarming and nostalgic that it always gets me, no matter how many times I watch it.

ShelfMAG: The item on your shelf most likely to stay there forever?

@kitkeenan: My digital cameras that I take on every trip and shoot all my best pics with- I have a Canon G7X and a Canon powershot SD600.
