Dear Steven | Advice
Thinking about quitting vaping but scared given the state of the world? Feeling unmotivated at work? Not sure if you should dump your boyfriend? Lucky for you, Steven is here to help. Every week our brand account manager/in-house movie expert/life-advice columnist will answer anonymous questions from shelf users right here in “Dear Steven!” Buckle in folks…this one’s gonna be fun.

You are asking the WRONG person. Gay dating for me has been a bottomless abyss of misery and hopelessness. Sorry to be doom and gloom, but I’ve tried everything. Dating apps, bars, clubs, coffee shops, but nothing really seems to work. Right now I’m just focusing on myself and if I meet someone, then I meet someone. I kinda gave up a while ago. Just be yourself, do your thing, and the right person will find you.

This is a great question. A question that I have yet to answer for myself. The past few years I’ve noticed that I’ve distanced myself from my hobbies and formed an unhealthy attachment to my phone. In 2025, I’m changing this. Here’s how I plan to do it:
Do things ALONE!Go to movies, walk around a museum, take yourself out to dinner. No one cares, just do it. Being able to be comfortable alone is a skill that should be practiced.
“What do YOU like”: This is a quote from Britany Broski’s podcast that really stuck with me. Forget everything you see on the internet—every trend, every influencer, every ad. What is something that you genuinely like to do? If you can’t answer that, it might be time for a little less screen time.

STOP ASKING ME. I DON’T KNOW. I AM NOT A CODER
