Another Simple Favor? Steven says 3.5/5
Shelf RATED | Films
Did A Simple Favor need a sequel? Absolutely not. Was Another Simple Favor still a blast to watch? Absolutely yes. Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick slip back into their roles like no time has passed, with Kendrick especially stealing the show. Her razor-sharp comedic timing gives the film an energy boost whenever the plot teeters on the edge of chaos (which is often, and gloriously so). It’s honestly a shame this was a streaming-only release. Some of the best scenes practically beg for the communal laughter of a theater crowd, the kind of experience that makes every gasp, chuckle, and eye-roll even better when shared.

While it doesn’t quite capture the sharpness of the original, Another Simple Favor still rides the same wave of chic absurdity that made the first so iconic. It’s a little messier, a little more self-aware, and mostly just wants you to have fun, and it succeeds. The runtime does sag a bit toward the end, but the steady drip of plot twists kept me locked in until the final bow. It’s not perfection, but it’s a stylishly wild ride that’s well worth taking.
